Government makes it easier for Belgian companies to hire from foreign workers

Belgium's Council of Ministers has greenlit an expansion of the "Working in Belgium" portal, intending to expedite the recruitment of foreign workers.

This initiative targets assisting businesses grappling with labor shortages in identifying suitable candidates abroad. Prolonged processing times pose a risk of discouraging potential candidates, prompting them to explore job prospects elsewhere, potentially compromising the competitiveness of Belgian enterprises.

The platform facilitates applicants in obtaining a 'single permit,' enabling them to reside in Belgium for employment purposes exceeding 90 days.
