Job Summary

To support the operation in the movement and loading of all catering and catering equipment in a safely, securely and timely manner in accordance with the U.A.E. traffic rules and Dubai International Airport Ramp safety regulations.

Job Description

1.Ensure punctual and efficient delivery of items / catering to the designated location at the airport on time and ensure that all deliveries are supplied as per the SOPs/procedures and airline specifications.
2.Liaise and assist the Airside Loading team (ALT) with the aircraft load/offload catering to ensure all flight provisioning requirements are met before departure.
3.Execute and secure appropriate positioning and operation of the equipment next to the aircraft according to the SOPs/ procedures to ensure safe and smooth load and offload activity.
4.Conduct independent overall vehicle Pre-trip inspection prior to commencement of trips and report any mechanical breakdowns for corrective action to avoid disruption during load/offload activity on the airside.
5.Ensure pre-cooling of containers if the trip is for temperature sensitive items and secure the cargo belts and wraps to avoid damage to the catering and carts.
6.Observe safe driving practices in order to comply with the U.A.E. road traffic rules and DIA ramp safety regulations at all times.
7.Comply with all Health & Safety policies and vehicle regulations laid down by the company as well as report any damage/ defect caused or observed while using light and heavy vehicles to maintain a safe work environment for yourself and colleagues.
CRITERIA FOR EMPLOYMENT
Education Qualification:
a) High School Certificate Qualification or equivalent qualification (must have).
b) Should have a valid U.A.E. driving license (#. 4 Heavy truck) and should have passed the company-driving test.
Work Experience:
c) Minimum experience of 5 years in a Logistics/Transport environment as a Truck Driver or a similar role.
Skills:
d)Should be well versed in written and spoken English with accuracy and attention to detail.
e)Should have knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance including tire pressure, checking oil and water levels.
f)Knowledgeable in First Aid, Safety/ basic firefighting (preferred).
g)Should have the ability to safely and efficiently operate a loaded vehicle.
h)Must be able to obtain a Restricted Area Security Pass.
i)Should be physically fit in order to be able to perform Manual Handling Tasks. (Bend, kneel, stoop and use of ladder).
j) Able to work alone or in a team environment.
k)Willing to work in shifts.
Fitness
a)Shall provide a self-declaration of being medically fit.
