Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
Cargo Handling:
- Load and unload cargo, baggage, and freight onto and from aircraft using appropriate equipment, such as conveyor belts, loaders, and forklifts.
- Ensure that cargo is properly secured and balanced in accordance with safety regulations.
Aircraft Preparation:
- Prepare aircraft for departure by securing loose items, closing doors, and ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Verify and confirm the accuracy of cargo manifests and documentation.
Equipment Operation:
- Operate ground support equipment, including loaders, tugs, and forklifts, following safety procedures and guidelines.
- Conduct routine checks and maintenance on equipment to ensure proper functioning.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with other ground operations personnel, pilots, and air traffic control to coordinate loading and unloading activities.
- Report any irregularities, damages, or issues to supervisors or relevant authorities.
Safety and Security:
- Adhere to safety and security procedures, including the proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Follow aviation regulations and guidelines related to cargo handling and loading.
Customer Service:
- Assist with passenger baggage handling when required, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to designated areas.
- Provide assistance to passengers with special needs or concerns regarding their baggage.
